Just got a 2019 ranger 1000 North Star and the shifter hits top of slot and barely goes into high. I can hold it up and it flexes the dash a bit and it runs in high but in park there is space at the bottom of the slot. If I don’t hold up it pops out of high. Is there a way to adjust that shifter like a bracket mount any help would be appreciated.

You can adjust the cable length at the right side of the transmission. It is the big cable attached to an arm behind the rear wheel.
So is the detent in the rear end area after the cable and shift arm on rear and the lever just free floating? So by extending the cable tensioner the handle will drop and not affect any timing/of shifter position and rear gear position? Just want a bit of guidance before I do it and mess up something..
If the cable is unhooked the gear shift moves freely all the detents are on the transmission. I would think you could just unhook the cable on the trans and manually shift the trans into high and adjust the cable until it hooks back up.
I recently bought a 2018 northstar and was having trouble finding low and reverse high was also a pain. I tore the side of the detent apart to find the roller had came off the pawl. I am going to buy the parts and put it back together. I will try and add some pictures and tips!
